Website Completion

Before we sign off a website as completed it undergoes a series of checks and validations

We run through a 62 point deployment check list to make sure that we have:

  • Installed and configured all the correct components
  • confirmed that processes such as Contact Us emails are functional
  • Validated that social networking such as Facebook is operational
  • Created bookmarking icons for smart phones and web browsers.
  • Registered the website on our 24/7 monitoring system.

  • Registered the website with Google webmaster.
  • Registered a sitemap with Goggle and requested the new website be indexed by Google

  • Bookmarked the website on our own Facebook and Blogs

Initiate the first monthly system audit by a 3rd party to check every aspect of the website including:

  • Check for Malicious files.
  • Folder Information issues.
  • File Information issues.
  • Security Software installation.
  • User Account Settings.

We also perform a full website content check to ensure that every aspect of the websites content is correct. This is a very in-depth assessment and is only performed once a year.

Websites and Search Engine Optimisation

There are several key elements involved with Search Engine Optimisation. Individually none of these will help your business but the combined results will. The key point most SEO companies miss is you are trying to market your business not the website.

Page Ranking : This is your position in a google search results ideally you want to be on Page 1 or 2. Whilst this may put you at the top of the list its a very narrow list relevant to the key words used in the search.

Links to your site : Google does not put a lot of  weight behind these but it depends where you put these links and the content behind the link. The goal here is to have your business appear in a wider set of places each with a link to your website. The more places you appear the greater chance of being seen. The simplest solution here is to register your business in as many business directories as possible.

Traffic : Just appearing in Google Search results is not enough - You want people to click on the link and go to your website. The snippet of information displayed in the Search Results or in the Business Directory listing has to entice the customer to make contact with you either via your website, email or phone.

Web Site Design and Content : The website content is viewed two ways - Firstly by Google to determine where your website should be presented in various Google Search results - Secondly by potential customers as their first impression of your business. The website design and content must be technically correct and use words relevant to your business, products and services so Google puts your website in the right search results. The website must look appealing to customers, up to date text and images, fresh information.

Having "A" web site is not enough - You need to appear in as many web places as you can, Facebook, Google +, Blogs, Business Directories, Linkedin, You tube. Your website is just the central hub that holds this all together.

Responsive Website Design

A responsive website changes its layout, image sizes and font sizes to suit screen resolution of the device being used. Whilst the resolution of modern smart phones and tablets are very high, the actual pixels that make up the images are very small which means you can fit a lot in but it can be difficult to read.

The image below shows a responsive website built by Local Web Design. Note how the layout changes on each device and the tablet has different layouts to suit its orientation. The images change size but the text is approximately the same actual size on each device.
